Food Sensitivity Testing

Is your food making you sick?
One man’s food is another man’s poison. Millions of Americans suffer from food sensitivities. Conditions such as irritable bowel, chronic diarrhea, acid reflux, migraines, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, skin eruptions, and brain fog are often related to the food we eat. Even so-called “healthy foods” can provoke symptoms in sensitive people.

If foods and additives in your diet are causing your illness, whatever medications you take will ultimately fail because they only mask the symptoms. They don’t treat the underlying cause of the symptoms. The first thing a food sensitivity sufferer needs to do is identify their trigger foods and food chemicals.

The most common blood test used to identify sensitive foods (ELISA IgG) can only detect a Type 3 sensitivity reaction which covers about 25% of food sensitivity reactions and can’t identify reactions to food-chemicals. Fortunately, the LEAP patented blood test called MRT (Mediator Release Test) accounts for both Type 3 and the more common Type 4 reactions. This translates into faster and more complete relief. Independent studies confirm that MRT is the most accurate and comprehensive blood test available for food and food-chemical reactions. The MRT tests 120 foods and 30 chemicals/additives and identifies an "immuno" calm diet plan to free you of painful symptoms and chronic health problems. For more information, visit LEAP.

Vitamin and Mineral Testing

Are you getting the nutrients you need?

Patented technology based on 18-years of research at the University of Texas shows that 50% of individuals taking multivitamins are still nutritionally deficient.

Historically, nutrient levels are measured using blood serum. These measurements can fluctuate drastically from day-to-day, depending on diet, stress, and overall health. It does not provide a good measure of a person’s true nutritional status. They provide you only with a “snapshot” of a static moment in time. An analogy of static testing would be like taking a picture of the scoreboard at halftime. You know what the score is but you do not know who wins the game.

Micronutrient Testing by Spectracell Laboratories measure intracellular function of essential nutrients within your white blood cells. White blood cells carry a person’s nutritional history for 4 to 6 months not a moment. This test will provide a true profile of vitamin, mineral, fatty acid, and amino acid deficiencies which commonly go undetected with traditional lab tests. Research shows that these deficiencies suppress the function of the immune system, contributing to heart disease, diabetes, arthritis, cancer, stroke, and many other chronic conditions.

This test is essential for anyone concerned with achieving and maintaining excellent health and wellness.

The Bacterial Overgrowth of the Small Intestine Breath Test (SIBO/BOSI)

Are you bloated after eating?

Small intestine bacterial overgrowth (SIBO) is a common gastrointestinal disorder that often underlies chronic gastrointestinal symptoms of maldigestion and malabsorption, including bloating, gas, diarrhea, irregularity, and abdominal pain. The SIBO test aids in identifying the actual cause of Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). IBS the most commonly diagnosed gastrointestinal disorder, affecting 20% of the general population. Studies suggest that as many as 50-75% of patients with IBS have SIBO/BOSI.  This simple, breath test detects bacterial overgrowth in the small intestine.

GI Effects Comprehensive Stool Profile

Do you have a “healthy microbiome”?

It is now known that the human GI tract is home to more than 1000 species of microbial organisms. These organisms – collectively known as the microbiome fulfill many metabolic functions. Imbalances in this internal ecosystem have been associated in the scientific literature with a wide variety of common illnesses including, but not limited to: Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), Diabetes, Obesity, Cardiovascular Disease, Celiac and Other Malabsorption Disorders, Mood Disorders, Autoimmune, and Autism.

Assessing and normalizing GI function can have profound effects on overall health, leading to improvement in these and other conditions. The GI Effects® Comprehensive Stool Profile is a critical clinical tool in the management of patients presenting with symptoms that can be associated with compromised gut health. This test groups biomarkers into four areas: Infection (parasite or pathogens), Inflammation, Insufficiency (Digestive and Absorption) and Imbalance (Metabolic). It also measures Diversity and Abundance of microbial organisms which serve as global measures of an individual’s gut health.

Advanced Lipid Testing

Did you know that 50% of heart attack victims had normal cholesterol levels?

Most standard lab tests look at total cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, and triglycerides. These values can be misleading because they only give part of the picture leaving many people with “normal” cholesterol numbers unaware that they are still at risk for heart disease. Advanced lipid testing, LPP, will identify sizes of lipoprotein particles as well as multiple inflammatory biomarkers that contribute to cardiovascular disease. Having a detailed Lipoprotein Particle Profile (LPP) gives your doctor the information needed to make more effective decisions to reduce your risk of heart disease or even a heart attack.

NutraEval

What nutritional imbalances may affect you?

NutrEval a comprehensive nutritional evaluation to identify specific imbalances of vitamins, nutrients, and essential co-factors. It achieves this by combining analysis of organic acids, amino acids, essential fatty acids, oxidative stress and elemental markers.

Amino Acids

Amino acids are integral to a healthy body. They serve as basic building blocks for all protein structures in the body. Imbalances of amino acids have been related to a wide range of health issues, such as fatigue, increased cardiovascular risk, or impaired mood or cognitive dysfunction.

Organic Acids

Organic acids are compounds produced during daily metabolism. Organic acids testing is a way to measure whether your body is getting and using the nutrients needed for key metabolic processes. Like a car’s gauges warn of potential problems, altered levels of organic acids can alert you to the need for specific nutrients, diet modification, detoxification, or other therapies.

Fatty Acids

Fatty acids are core building blocks of cell walls, making them critical for cell structure and function. Certain fatty acids are “essential” and must be obtained from the diet. Imbalanced or deficient fatty acid levels have been related to a number of health conditions including inflammatory, cardiovascular, hormonal, and mood disorders. Adequate levels of essential fatty acids are also critical during pregnancy and lactation to ensure proper brain and nerve development in the child.

Nutrients & Toxic Elements

Nutrient minerals are regulators of body processes and must be obtained from the diet or supplementation. Inadequate levels of beneficial minerals, such as magnesium, copper, and zinc, can contribute to many disorders including mood instability, painful joints and muscles, or reproductive issues. In contrast, increased levels of toxic elements, such as mercury, lead, or other heavy metals can be harmful and are related to a wide range of chronic health conditions.

Antioxidants

Antioxidants are protective molecules that reduce free radical damage or oxidative stress. Antioxidants are essential for the body’s ability to protect against free radicals, and for healthy function of the neurological, endocrine, and immune systems. Oxidative stress is linked to premature aging, heart disease, neurological diseases, and chronic fatigue.
